Adrienne Kapstein is a collaborative theater-maker and director specializing in the creation of interdisciplinary physical theater. Her original work has been presented in the U.S., Scotland, Canada, Ireland and Romania. Highlights include: Light, A Dark Comedy (Triskelion Arts; New Victory Theater LabWorks), Love is Love (Sibiu International Theater Festival), Washeteria (Soho Rep); Wanda’s Monster (Vineyard Theater); Every Day Above Ground (PS 122); Fathom (Winner Best Production, Dublin Fringe). Adrienne was the Associate Director of Movement and Horse Choreography on War Horse (Broadway and National Tour). Current projects include

Scurry, a commission by Lincoln Center Education with Trusty Sidekick Theater Company, devising and directing a new work with New York City Children’s Theater, developing Future Mariner, a large-scale immersive, interactive multimedia retelling of Rime of the Ancient Mariner with Strike Theater Company, and co-creating Scribblomania, a partially participatory work inspired by the Bronte siblings' writings as children with award-winning Canadian playwright and poet, Jodi Essery. Areas of research include immersive contemporary performance practice, Theater for Young Audiences, Theater for the Very Young, and the convergence of technology with live performance.
