Thommie Retter has a love for the entertainment business like no other and you will see this shine through in each of his classes.

Just finishing a 3 ½ year run on Broadway with Billy Elliot The Musical, Thommie had the thrill of performing for more than1.5 million enthusiastic theatregoers. With the curtain closed, Thommie has been able to return to his first love, teaching dance. Recently, Thommie had the honor of preparing the one and only Tony Danza for his new smash hit Broadway show Honeymoon in Vegas and continues to work with Tony on a regular basis. Also, in his arsenal of tap dance celebrities are Isabela Moner who is currently staring in the hit Nickelodeon TV series 100 Things To Do Before High School and Ashley Argota who is a main character on the ABC Family series The Fosters! Thommie also has students in a variety of Broadway shows including; Finding Neverland, Dr. Zhivago, Fun Home Matilda, and School of Rock. Thommie also has students currently involved in the national tours of Pippin, Annie, Kinky Boots, Billy Elliot The Sound of Music and The Lion King. Taking class with Thommie is no guarantee you will make it to the big time, however, it is a great place to start.

Thommie is one of the producers of the coming-of-age feature film Contest “The Movie”. The film deals with the tough topic of teenaged bullying along with other issues associated with adolescence. Known for seeking out and attracting the best talent available, Thommie was very instrumental in the preproduction and casting of this timely and important film, which starred one of his tap students, Katherine McNamara from Disney and Nickelodeon.

This Way To Broadway is a workshop/showcase event that takes place primarily in NYC and was created by Thommie Retter. The event serves as a starting point for kids searching for the bright lights of Broadway and many kids who have come through the program have reached their unbelievably high goals!
